Had the honour and privilege of being able to capture my brother Grant’s wedding as he married his best friend Tara. They got married on the first real day of winter and it was freezing with strong winds. We powered through it and were able to capture some stunning photos of them and their wedding party. So proud of Tara and her tough skin for pushing through it because it was not pleasant if you weren’t bundled up.

We took all the photos at the gorgeous Rockwood Conservation Area. With Tara growing up in the Centre Wellington area she had always admired this spot and knew one day she would have her wedding photos take here. The combination of rock ruins, river and trees making you feel like you are up north and of course a gorgeous couple made for a lovely setting. They both cleaned up well. Tara looked stunning in her dress and beautiful veil from Taylors Bridal, hair and makeup were done by her staff at Caroline’s Coiffure in Elmira and flowers by Ann Martin in St Jacobs. The Woolwich vendors never disappoint and did a fabulous job!

Grant & Tara also did a first look but Grant was first surprised with a different first look with his best man Dustin who dressed up like a bride… Grant was SO surprised and bursted out laughing, we got him good. Tara loves pulling pranks on Grant and when we heard of this idea we knew we had to do it. Couldn’t have gone any better, good job team!

We then travelled to Elmira where they got married in the church Grant grew up in. It was a lovely ceremony with Juneyt playing the flamenco guitar and officiated by Grant’s cousin Graham. They were surrounded by so many friends and family. Favourite moment was during the signing Tara’s nieces who were the flower girls went up on stage and started dancing in front of everyone, it was adorable.

They reception took place at the Linwood Community Centre and was beautifully decorated by with lots of greenery, crystals, horseshoe centrepieces, wine barrels and much more. My parents Dave and Marilyn, took Tara’s vision and put in long hours making and creating everything. Thinking we should be creating a Weber Wedding Services company, everything from decor, photography, wedding planning/ coordinating, MCing, entertainment etc. Probably a long shot but just saying haha. The food was so delicious as it was catered by the one and only Grace Frey and her staff.

The evening was full of many hilarious stories and moments there was never a dull moment. DJ Matt did any awesome job of keeping the party going with the tunes. Tara danced up a storm which was no surprise as she had been looking forward to it all day. She got the people going!

The whole day was so much fun, so beautiful and was full of LOTS of laughter and some tears. Huge thank you goes out to my lovely friend and second shooter Steph of Stephanie Canada Photography for helping me capture the day so I could also be a guest.

I am so happy to finally have another beautiful, caring sister in the family. Even though it wasn’t official until now, Tara has always been apart of the family for some time now. She makes my brother so happy and they bring out the best in each other and she definitely fits in with our crazy family. Grant you have been the best big brother anyone could ask for and am so proud of everything you have accomplished. You got yourself a great catch 😉 So excited for what is ahead for Grant and Tara in their new life together. Love you both, Cheers
