I have been a photographer since 2010 and I’m still loving it!
I do! I went to Fanshawe College and completed their 2 year photography program. In between those 2 years I had a co-op placement with a wedding photographer. This is where I learned more about weddings and discovered that this is what I want to specialize in!
My style is very natural, rustic and simple. I strive to make couples feel comfortable while working with me, by having fun at the same time. I am all about rustic! I look for anything with texture that is unique and might be something you wouldn’t think of using as a backdrop. I like to shoot threw objects like tree branches to create a nice blurred frame around the subjects. I also consider plain, simple, delicate backgrounds that aren’t really busy so the attention is drawn to the couple and not to what is behind them.
I am based out of Waterloo but travel to wherever my photography takes me! The farthest I have been is Jamaica for a destination wedding! Details can be discussed at a consultation regarding travel
Most of my packages include a second photographer. They’re there to capture more candid moments while I am photographing the main photos. I only hire other professional photographers that I work well with and who have the same shooting style as me. This way if I need to have them capture the guys getting ready for example, or other parts of the day, I know they will do a wonderful job doing so and I trust them doing it. It’s also nice having them along to bounce ideas off of, a second pair of eyes, and a buddy to hang out with 🙂
I require a $1000 non-refundable deposit to secure a wedding date. The remaining amount is due two weeks prior to the wedding day.
It all depends on how many hours of coverage you book. Typically you will get somewhere between 400-900, so lots! What I do is go through all the wedding photos and pick out all the ones that turned out the best and edit those.
Here is what I would recommend but can work with whatever is given too me.
Guys Getting Ready: 30 to 45mins
Girls Getting Ready: 1 hour 30mins
Family: 30mins
Wedding Party: 30 to 45min depending on size
Couple Photos: 1 hour
A first look is when a couple sees each other before the ceremony in a private location. A time where they’re alone and away from any friends or family that is dedicated just for them. This is a great option for couples who don’t have much time between the ceremony and reception and who need to calm any nerves beforehand. You get really adorable photos from it and are able to have ALL your photos done before hand! Also you get to spend more of your wedding day together. I do recommend doing one if you have a tight timeline but I do understand that they are not for everyone.
I always post sneak peeks of an engagement and wedding within 48hours. This way you get a little preview and can get excited to see the rest! The wedding gallery is ready a month from your wedding date. Depending on the time of year it may be earlier or later. Engagement galleries are ready about a week after the shoot
If my second photographer and I will be covering your wedding over dinner then we do require to be fed 🙂
The online gallery is a great way to share your photos with your friends and family. It has all the edited photos from your wedding day and engagement shoot available. You are able to download them straight to your computer and star your favourites. If you choose to have a wedding album made up this is where you select your favourite photos to be put into an album.
I include an engagement session with every wedding package for free, for a few reasons. Number one, it helps you get used to how I work so that you’re comfortable with me on your wedding day. Number two, it helps me get used to what you two are like so that I’m better prepared to serve you best on your wedding day. And number three, it makes for some super cute pictures!
You’re certainly welcome to forego your included engagement session, but I don’t offer replacements or discounts for removing the session, because it provides so much value not only for my clients but also for myself.
I am always open for new ideas and suggestions. However I do let people know my re-creation of the photo is not going to look exactly like the one they showed me. Every photographer is different and trying to create exactly what someone else did isn’t being individual. I would put my own spin and vision on it to make it my own. But love trying new things and suggestions are welcome
Yes absolutely! They don’t have any watermarks on them and are yours to print, share and do whatever with. The only thing I ask is that you do not change the look or manipulate the photos in any way since that would reflect back on me and is not what I created.
I always sit down with my couples to plan out their family checklist for photos. This is where we figure out all the different family combinations and bring forward anything I need to be aware of (divorces, people passed away and other concerns). This way I am aware of everything before hand and can know how to organize people accordingly. By having this list ahead of time it will make family photos go by quickly and in an organized manner.
